RF. Prince Archie Celebrates 7th Birthday – Here Are a Few Times He Was Seen in Public

The fourth grandchild of King Charles III and Diana, Princess of Wales, is celebrating another year, and the new photos shared by his media personality, entrepreneur, and actress mother are once again drawing attention to the rarely seen royal child.

Prince Archie marked his seventh birthday on Wednesday — and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, pulled back the curtain on her famously private family life with a pair of touching photos that immediately reignited royal fascination.

In a rare Instagram post, Meghan shared two intimate images tied to Archie’s childhood. One showed Prince Harry cradling his newborn son shortly after his birth, while another captured a sweet rear-view moment of Archie standing beside his younger sister, Princess Lilibet.

The post, simple on the surface but loaded with emotion for royal watchers, was captioned, “7 years later…happy birthday to our sweet boy 🤍.” The glimpse into the Sussexes’ California family life instantly sparked a flood of online reaction, with fans dissecting everything from Archie’s appearance to the ongoing rift between Prince Harry and the royal family.

The birthday message follows a similarly emotional tribute Meghan posted last year when Archie turned six. At the time, she shared a photo of him watching a glowing sunset and referred to him as “Our son. Our sun.” She also thanked those who attended his birthday celebration and expressed gratitude for the messages and support sent to the family.

Archie, who was born in 2019 amid enormous global attention, is not believed to have celebrated any of his birthdays alongside members of the royal family in the United Kingdom. Even before his birth, Meghan’s pregnancy became the subject of intense public obsession.

In 2019, the former actress traveled to New York City for an extravagant baby shower hosted by Serena Williams at The Mark Hotel. The glamorous celebration drew a star-studded guest list, including Amal Clooney and Gayle King.

The lavish event featured activities such as a flower-arranging class that generated headlines around the world. However, the celebration also attracted criticism after reports surfaced claiming Meghan had traveled by private jet.

The latest birthday post also reflects the parenting philosophy Meghan and Harry have increasingly discussed in recent years. According to a source, the couple has made it a priority to allow Archie and Princess Lilibet the freedom to grow into their own personalities.

The source claimed this approach has been especially important to Prince Harry because of his own difficult experiences growing up under the relentless glare of royal life. Harry himself touched on the subject earlier this year during an appearance at a Movember event in Australia.

Speaking candidly about raising children in a rapidly changing world, the Duke of Sussex admitted parenting is constantly evolving. He described children as an opportunity for growth and improvement across generations, adding that many parents naturally want to build on the experiences they had themselves.

Harry also stressed that he does not approach parenting with blame or judgment. Instead, he views it as a continuous process of learning and adapting. Over the years, Meghan has occasionally offered carefully curated glimpses into Archie’s upbringing through short videos and family photographs shared online.

Some clips have shown the young royal learning how to bake, helping feed chickens at the family’s California home, and enjoying quiet moments with his mother. Other videos captured milestones, including Archie learning to walk and participating in low-key family celebrations.

Despite those rare peeks behind closed doors, Archie and Lilibet remain far more shielded from public life than many of their royal cousins.

Royal commentator and constitutional law specialist Dr. Craig Prescott recently highlighted the dramatic differences between Archie’s upbringing and that of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Speaking to the Daily Express, Craig explained that the Wales children have gradually been introduced to public royal duties and major ceremonial events because of their future positions within the monarchy.

He said the situation appears entirely different for Archie and Princess Lilibet. According to Craig, it is unlikely the Sussex children will ever take on official royal duties, despite retaining their royal titles. Instead, their lives are expected to remain largely private in the United States.

The contrast underscores the increasingly separate paths taken by Prince Harry and Prince William as they raise their families in completely different worlds and under vastly different public expectations. As Archie celebrated another birthday in California, the milestone also renewed painful discussions about his relationship with the royal family in Britain.

According to royal commentators, Archie and Princess Lilibet last saw King Charles during the Sussex family’s visit to the United Kingdom for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022.

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe told The Mirror that Archie’s seventh birthday likely serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the ongoing distance between King Charles and Prince Harry. Duncan said the monarch may be experiencing “sadness and regret” over how fractured the relationship has become.

He added that Charles has often spoken publicly about how deeply he values being a grandfather and suggested the King would never have wanted events to unfold this way. The comments arrive as the bitter divide between the Sussexes and the royal household continues to dominate public discussion surrounding the family.

Meanwhile, the latest birthday photos also reignited endless online fascination over Archie’s appearance and how closely he resembles his famous parents. Following Meghan’s post, social media users quickly flooded comment sections with observations about his height, facial features, and hair color.

One person wrote, “Archie is going to be tall like his Daddy.” Others focused on his resemblance to Meghan, with comments including, “He looks a lot like his mom” and “He looks like Meghan.” Several people also became fixated on the young royal’s changing hair color.

One commenter noted, “Archie hair change colour from the last time he was seen,” while another added, “Amazing how their hair color constantly changes.” The reactions once again highlighted the intense public fascination surrounding the Sussex children — despite Meghan and Harry’s repeated efforts to maintain a relatively private upbringing for their family.
