According to local authorities, the accident occurred on State Road 239, just a few meters from Ferrari’s home. She was reportedly heading toward the nearby bus stop when tragedy struck. The truck, operated by Cunaccia Construction, hit the teen as she crossed the street at a designated crosswalk.
Preliminary reports indicate that the driver may have had a green light at the time, though officials emphasize that a full investigation is underway to determine the precise circumstances of the accident. The road was immediately closed off as emergency teams rushed to the scene.
Paramedics, firefighters, and doctors—supported by an emergency helicopter—worked desperately to save the girl’s life. Despite their tireless efforts, Matilda Ferrari succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her parents, who arrived shortly afterward, were met with unimaginable grief.
