While the details of their relationship remain private, insiders suggest that their mutual interests have played a significant role in bringing them closer.
Akala, 40, is well-known for his work in educating people about Britain’s colonial history and prominent Black historical figures. Reports indicate that Jolie has developed a deep appreciation for his knowledge, particularly as she seeks new inspiration for her film projects. The Mr. & Mrs. Smith star has reportedly been eager to learn about key figures such as Kelso Cochrane and Olive Morris, who were instrumental in the fight against racial injustice in the UK.
Jolie’s Growing Interest in British History and Culture
Sources close to the pair suggest that Akala has been introducing Jolie to a deeper understanding of Black British history, a subject she has been keenly interested in exploring. Their discussions have reportedly sparked ideas for potential collaborations, including film and documentary projects aimed at highlighting untold stories of historical significance.
Aside from her fascination with history, Jolie has also shown interest in Akala’s family background, including his sister, the British rapper Ms. Dynamite. According to reports, the actress admires Ms. Dynamite’s music and has enjoyed learning about her contributions to the UK music scene.
Keeping Their Connection Private
Although neither Jolie nor Akala has publicly confirmed the nature of their relationship, sources claim they have been discreetly meeting on multiple occasions. The two were recently spotted attending the London Film Festival on the same night, though they arrived separately to avoid unnecessary attention. Additionally, reports suggest that they have spent time together at Jolie’s London hotel, The Corinthia, using private entrances and different vehicles to maintain their privacy.
A source shared with The Sun that Jolie arrived at The Corinthia on a Wednesday evening around 8 PM, with Akala following a couple of hours later at approximately 10 PM. They reportedly spent both Wednesday and Thursday nights together at the hotel without stepping outside, further fueling speculation about their growing closeness.
Speculations and Clarifications
While rumors about a romantic relationship between Jolie and Akala continue to circulate, some sources have suggested that their connection may be purely intellectual and professional. One insider emphasized that Akala is currently in a relationship with his business partner, Chanelle Newman, dismissing any speculation of romance with Jolie. However, others argue that Jolie and Akala’s frequent meet-ups indicate a strong and meaningful connection, regardless of its nature.
Adding to the intrigue, Jolie and Akala were also spotted together at the New York Film Festival on September 29. They were joined by Jolie’s 20-year-old son, Pax, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt. Just one day before the festival, the pair was seen attending another event in New York City, further solidifying speculation about their deepening bond.
