Glad he’s now safe ❤️🐾💯
The bag of food was all she had left in the world. And then her rescuers showed up and her life changed.
In late March, a woman driving past Moores Park in Lansing, Michigan, noticed a young terrier mix sitting beside a bag of dog food. Hoping her owner would return, the woman’s husband stayed with her. But no one came.
As the [fr.ighte.ned] dog began wandering toward the road, the couple contacted Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter. An officer soon arrived and brought her to safety.
Named Lola Lopp, the six-month-old puppy appeared to be in relatively good physical health, but she was [s.ca.red] and overwhelmed by her unfamiliar surroundings. At first, she struggled to trust people. With patience and gentle care, however, her sweet personality began to emerge. Once she felt safe, Lola loved curling up in someone’s lap and receiving affection.
When the shelter shared her heartbreaking story on Fb, thousands of people reacted with sympathy and support. Many were touched by the image of a little dog staying beside the only thing she had been left with—a bag of food.
Thankfully, Lola’s story is taking a hopeful turn. She is now living in a foster-to-adopt home, where she has adjusted remarkably well and may soon find her forever family.
Her story is a powerful reminder that [a.ban.do.ning] a pet can put their life in [da.ng.er]. Anyone struggling to care for an animal is encouraged to contact a shelter for help rather than leave them alone and [vu.lnerable].
Lola was once a [fr.ight.ened] puppy waiting beside a bag of food, with no idea whether anyone would return.
Now, thanks to two compassionate strangers and the people who refused to give up on her, she has something every [a.ban.do.ned] animal deserves: safety, love, and a second chance.
Thankful she is in a good foster home with love. You never know they may fall in love with her and she will be their Fur baby forever. ❤️
