Connor Closs has secured a place in the next round of The Voice after winning a closely contested Battle against fellow Team Adam contestant Cal Cook. The pair took on Sombr’s “Homewrecker,” delivering a high-energy performance that impressed the coaches and left Adam Levine with a difficult decision.
Closs entered the competition as a two-chair turn, while Cook had earned the support of one coach during the Blind Auditions. Their Battle gave both singers an opportunity to showcase their vocal abilities, with the fast-paced song demanding precise timing and coordination.
Coaches Praise Both Performances
Kelly Clarkson praised the energy both contestants brought to the stage, pointing to moments when each singer stood out. Although she said she leaned slightly toward Closs, she was quick to reassure Cook that he had also delivered a strong performance.
The other coaches also highlighted Closs’s impressive vocal runs. Queen Latifah, however, made sure Cook received recognition for his contribution, noting that he had committed to the performance from the very beginning.
Adam Levine Faces a Difficult Choice

Levine praised both members of his team for handling the song so well. He explained that its demanding pace left little room to breathe, making it essential for the singers to coordinate their parts carefully and give each other the right space.
He also commended the pair for maintaining a clean, consistent rhythm throughout the performance.
Despite describing the matchup as virtually even, Levine ultimately had to choose one contestant to advance. He selected Closs, bringing Cook’s Battle round to an end.
Although the decision was difficult, Closs’s performance earned him the place on Team Adam in the next stage of the competition.
