Most importantly, do not treat the absence of evidence as proof of a secret discovery.

If a claim says that every major scientific institution is concealing an extraordinary discovery, the burden of proof becomes even greater.

What Would a Real Discovery Look Like?

A genuinely remarkable archaeological or paleontological discovery would probably be much less cinematic than the viral image suggests.

Researchers would begin by documenting the site.
