RF. Prince Harrys Hair And Meghan Markles

From the fit of Harry’s tuxedo to the dramatic sweep of Meghan’s gown, the photographs turned an elegant night out into a surprisingly lively style conversation online.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrived in Canada for a glamorous charitable event on August 7, 2026. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the David Foster Foundation 40th Anniversary Celebration in Victoria, British Columbia, with the event marking four decades of fundraising by Music Producer David Foster’s charitable foundation.

According to Good Morning America, the festivities began with a gala on Friday before continuing with a free concert at Victoria’s Inner Harbour on Saturday, August 8. Foster’s wife, Katharine McPhee, was among those attending Friday’s event, along with Adam Levine and Josh Groban.

For the gala, Harry opted for a classic black tuxedo with a white shirt and bow tie, while Meghan wore a dramatic floor-length, black Greta Constantine gown. She accessorized with Princess Diana’s sapphire and diamond earrings.

‘His Trousers Are Too Short’ & ‘Looks like a Black Curtain’: Harry and Meghan’s Appearances Get Picked Apart

Some online viewers who saw photos of the couple focused almost exclusively on Harry’s tailoring and Meghan’s attire. Under a People Facebook post, one spectator wrote, “I must say his trousers are too short.”

Meanwhile, Meghan’s gown produced dramatically different reactions. One supporter was firmly in the fan camp, swooning, “Oh Meghan’s dress is so perfect. Love it! ❤️🇨🇦.” However, not everybody was convinced by the gown’s long, trailing silhouette, as someone else commented, “Looks like a black curtain or tablecloth dragging on the floor.”

Another commenter focused more broadly on Meghan’s appearance, opining, “Shes [sic] really changed in looks,” while a fellow observer commented, “The dress looks that she has a pillow dragging behind her 🤔 [sic].”

And Harry’s tuxedo came under scrutiny again, this time because of the way he wore his jacket. One commenter asked, “Why can’t Harry button his jacket? Looks sloppy.”

The Duke of Sussex’s Hair Sent Commenters Into Detective Mode

While many had plenty to say about the duo’s styling choices, it was Harry’s hair that generated some of the most curious responses, and those observations landed against an already lively public discussion about his thinning hair. In the comment section of another Facebook discussion of the appearance, one netizen wondered, “How come he’s got more hair is it a wig [sic].”

A fellow spectator had a similar question after examining the new photographs. She questioned, “What’s happened to the top of his head?”

Similarly, someone else added to the conversation about Harry’s hair, asking, “Did he spray hair on the top of his head?? What’s going on up there? 🥴.”

Of course, photographs can make hair look dramatically different depending on lighting, angle, styling and camera exposure, so the images themselves do not establish that Harry has done anything unusual to his hair.

What makes the comments noteworthy, however, is that Harry’s hair loss has already become a surprisingly regular subject of public conversation, including jokes from Harry himself.

Harry Has Already Discussed What’s ‘Happening on Top’ of His Head

As E! News reported in July 2026, the 41-year-old joked about his grooming routine during the July 13 episode of the “Joe Marler Will See You Now” podcast. Discussing his hair, Harry admitted there is “nothing really happening on top.” The Duke of Sussex then added, “I get a haircut, otherwise I try not to look at what’s happening [sic].”

Harry also poked fun at the way people describe his famous hair color. “I’m not ginger,” he stated, describing himself instead as “more like sunset, like auburn.”

The Duke had made another self-deprecating reference to hair loss only days earlier while speaking to athletes and volunteers connected with the Invictus Games Foundation in London. Reflecting on familiar faces who had been involved since the earlier Games, Harry quipped that “some of us have lost our hair.”

That willingness to joke about the subject makes the latest social-media fixation slightly less startling. Harry himself has acknowledged the changes that come with age, even if online observers continue trying to interpret every new photograph.

Hair-Transplant Rumors Have Followed Harry for Years, but Nothing Has Been Confirmed

Speculation about whether Harry has ever undergone a hair-restoration procedure has also circulated publicly. However, a July report by Yahoo Entertainment noted that Harry has never confirmed receiving a hair transplant despite years of discussion surrounding changes in his hairline.

The report also emphasized that differences between photographs can have many possible explanations, including lighting, styling, hair-thickening products and non-surgical treatments. In other words, a photograph can fuel speculation, but it cannot provide a medical history.

Behind the Hair and Fashion Chatter Was a Much More Meaningful Reason for the Trip

And while the online chatter may have centered on hair, pants, and a particularly long black train, the reason Harry and Meghan were in Victoria was considerably more meaningful.

The David Foster Foundation provides financial support to Canadian families whose children are undergoing life-saving organ transplants. It helps with non-medical expenses during what can be an extraordinarily difficult period for families and works to increase awareness of organ donation in both Canada and the United States.

Harry and Meghan’s presence also reflected a relationship with David and his family that goes back years. Meghan and David’s wife, Katherine, have known one another since childhood, while David played an important role during one of the most consequential periods in Harry and Meghan’s royal lives.

In 2019, David helped arrange for the couple to stay at a mansion on Vancouver Island owned by one of his friends. That Canadian stay came shortly before Harry and Meghan announced in January 2020 that they intended to step back as senior working members of the royal family.

So their appearance at the foundation’s milestone celebration was more than a random stop on the social calendar. There were longstanding personal connections behind the invitation, even if social media ultimately became fascinated by considerably smaller details.

One Gala, Two Outfits, and Countless Opinions

And perhaps that is the most striking thing about the latest photographs: two people can arrive at a charitable gala dressed in traditional black-tie style, only for the internet to turn a pant hem, a gown train and the top of a head into the evening’s biggest visual talking points.

Whether Meghan’s dress reads as sleek glamour or too much fabric clearly depends on who is looking. And as for Harry’s hair, the Duke of Sussex has already shown that he may be more prepared to laugh about the subject than many of the people studying the pictures.
