RF. Prince William and Princess Catherine Wear Special Bracelets During Visit to Southport, England

During a solemn and emotionally charged visit to Southport, the Prince and Princess of Wales made a subtle yet powerful gesture that captivated attention and tugged at heartstrings.

Prince William and Princess Catherine arrived in Southport on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, their presence marked by visible unity as they both wore identical bracelets throughout a string of public appearances.

This visit marked their return to the grief-stricken town, still haunted by a horrific tragedy that claimed three young lives just last year.

The bracelets, worn tightly around the royal couple’s wrists, were made in memory of Bebe, inscribed with the name Bebe’s Hive, a grief support project founded by her heartbroken mother, Lauren King.

William and Catherine received the tokens during a private meeting filled with emotion at Churchtown Primary School, where both Bebe and Alice had once played and learned. “It meant everything. It was really special,” Lauren said after the meeting.

The royal couple continued to wear the bracelets throughout their Southport engagements, most notably while visiting a newly constructed playground lovingly dedicated to Bebe and Alice. Prince William was photographed with his bracelet clearly visible as he delivered heartfelt remarks to the children and staff assembled.

Located on the grounds of Churchtown school, the playground was envisioned as a joyful, healing refuge — a living tribute to the children lost and a symbol of resilience for those who remain.

At Farnborough Road Infant and Junior School, where Elsie had been a student, William and Catherine held a separate, private meeting with her grieving parents.

Their visits to both schools served as a deeply moving demonstration of their commitment to supporting shattered families and rebuilding hope in two school communities forever altered by violence.

Axel Rudakubana, was sentenced to life in prison in January 2025. Just seventeen years old when he carried out the killings, Rudakubana pleaded guilty to three counts of murder and several counts of attempted murder.

He also admitted to two terrorism-related charges, including possession of the deadly poison ricin and an Al-Qaeda training manual. He must serve at least 52 years before even being considered for release.

“There were twenty-six children at the party, all of them happy and enjoying themselves,” said Judge Julian Goose during sentencing. “He targeted those children for the horrific, extreme violence he was intent upon. It was such extreme violence of the utmost seriousness, it was difficult to comprehend.”

The bracelets’ inscription, Bebe’s Hive, refers to the grief support initiative created by Lauren in memory of her daughter. The organization describes itself as “a grief-informed, creative project for children and families,” offering safe, child-led spaces to explore loss through art, music, storytelling, and play.

“Born from loss. Rooted in love. Guided by Bebe,” the organization’s website declares with emotional clarity. Lauren explains, “What makes us unique is our blend of lived experience, professional expertise, and a deep belief that no child should have to grieve alone.”

William and Catherine had previously visited Southport in October 2024, not long after the devastating attack. During their appearance, the Prince and Princess of Wales drew attention not only for their compassionate presence but also for their coordinated burgundy ensembles, a subtle expression of unity.

As we previously reported, the outing marked a milestone for Catherine.

Catherine and William visited the still-grieving community on October 10, World Mental Health Day. The timing underscored the purpose of the visit, as the royal couple met with the families of the victims of the tragic knife attack just months earlier.

This appearance held particular significance as it marked Catherine’s first official public engagement since undergoing chemotherapy — a long-awaited return that didn’t go unnoticed. Fans flooded social media with praise.

The couple also spent time with Leanne Lucas, 35, the brave dance teacher who was injured while trying to shield the children from the attack. Later, during a meeting with emergency responders, Catherine praised their heroic actions, while William commended their professionalism and composure in the face of the unthinkable violence that unfolded that day.

The royals reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Southport community, taking to social media after their visit to pledge that they would “stand with everyone in Southport,” a message that offered comfort to a town still healing from unimaginable loss.

In addition to their deeply emotional engagement, it was the royal couple’s coordinated fashion that turned heads. Catherine, radiant in rich autumnal tones, wore a long chocolate-brown double-breasted coat draped over a flowing burgundy midi dress adorned with white polka dots and finished with a pussy-bow neckline.

She completed the look with deep brown suede pumps and a pair of dangly gold earrings shaped like delicate leaves — a subtle nod to the season. Her signature silky waves and soft, natural makeup added to her understated yet unmistakably elegant presence.

Prince William matched his wife with an equally polished ensemble. He wore a gray blazer featuring a subtle plaid pattern, paired with dark gray trousers. His burgundy sweater and tie mirrored Catherine’s dress to perfection, while brown suede shoes tied the coordinated look together with effortless style.

As expected, the couple’s outing sparked a flurry of admiration on social media. One royal watcher gushed, “So lovely to see our Princess💗💗 p.s. the matching burgundy looks great.” Another chimed in with delight, “They’re matchy matchy! Love this couple!”

Another fan observed, “I hadn’t noticed that the Prince and Princess of Wales are matching, their outfits, the colours I mean.” One netizen appreciated their understated clothing choices, writing, “I love how they subtly match, they don’t need to be salt & pepper shakers. It’s obvious they’re the Prince & Princess of Wales.”

Others focused on the deeper significance of the visit. One admirer shared, “Great to see the Prince and Princess of Wales at Southport. A very poignant visit and lovely to see her looking so well. A caring couple. Our future,” capturing the mood of a public still moved by their presence.

Beyond their subtle fashion coordination, it was the couple’s genuine compassion and quiet show of strength that truly resonated online—especially in light of Catherine’s health battle in the past months.
