Jelly Roll, the 39-year-old singer and rapper known for hits like “Somebody Save Me,” is making waves, not only with his music but also with his impressive health transformation. His journey to a healthier lifestyle has captivated fans, showing that dedication to well-being can go hand-in-hand with an active tour schedule.
Recently, fans were thrilled to see Jelly Roll looking fitter than ever. Under the guidance of his personal chef, Ian Larios, Jelly Roll has been gradually transforming his health and fitness regimen. In a recent Instagram post from October 21, Larios highlighted the hard work the musician has been putting in behind the scenes during his “Beautifully Broken” tour.
According to Larios, Jelly Roll is committed to an active lifestyle on the road, incorporating activities like basketball, boxing, and climbing stairs in each tour arena. This intense routine, coupled with a disciplined diet, has led to a major milestone: Jelly Roll has lost over 100 pounds.
In an Instagram video, Chef Larios not only praised Jelly Roll’s efforts but also shared some insights into the singer’s diet. Before each show, Jelly Roll enjoys a light snack of sliced bananas drizzled with honey and topped with dark chocolate, a treat that gives him an energy boost without weighing him down.
After performances, his meals consist of high-protein dishes, like chicken breast coated in potato or rice flour, fueling his body with the nutrients needed to sustain his demanding schedule.
Jelly Roll’s commitment to his health journey has been a source of inspiration for fans and friends alike. In the video, Jelly Roll spoke about his determination to keep pushing himself, saying, “Next year when y’all see me, you won’t recognize me.”
His enthusiasm for the journey is clear, as he looks forward to reaching new fitness levels, adding, “I’m going to get under a pile of weights in a way that I never had.”
The support from his fanbase has been overwhelming. Comments poured in with words of encouragement, like, “So happy he’s beginning to take care of his body!!
Love him and want him to live forever!!” and “You’re absolutely killing it. I noticed a few weeks ago how much you have thinned down.” His transformation has sparked hope and admiration, with fans excited to see how far he’ll go.
Chef Ian Larios has been a consistent voice of support for Jelly Roll’s progress. In an Instagram post from September 16, he shared that the singer has been “absolutely crushing” his goals on this 56-city tour, adding, “The habits he’s been building are truly life-changing.”
This emphasis on sustainable change shows that Jelly Roll’s approach to health isn’t just about quick results but creating long-term habits that will continue to benefit him.
Jelly Roll’s journey began earlier in the year, and one of his most memorable milestones was completing his first 5K run in May at the “Netflix Is a Joke” comedy festival. Held in Pasadena, California, the 5K was part of an event hosted by comedians Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer. For Jelly Roll, finishing this race was a massive personal achievement.
“I couldn’t walk a mile when I started trying to do this back in January,” he recalled. He and Kreischer shared an emotional moment at the finish line, overwhelmed by the impact of their hard work. Jelly Roll’s success in the 5K has fueled his ambition to tackle a half marathon in the future, saying, “Next year, a half marathon! We’re saying it now, absolutely!”
Leading up to the 5K, Jelly Roll had been working out rigorously, often logging two to three miles a day, four to six days a week. His routine also included daily sessions in a sauna and cold plunge, which he credits with helping him shed more than 70 pounds at the time.
“If I feel this good down this weight, man, I can only imagine what I’m going to feel like by the time I go on tour,” he expressed in a post, excited about his new level of fitness.
His health journey also involved overcoming public scrutiny. Fans had previously voiced concerns about his well-being after his wife, Bunnie XO, revealed that Jelly Roll temporarily withdrew from social media due to criticism about his weight.
Despite this, he remained focused on his health goals, saying, “I feel incredible. I’m surrounded by friends and family.” This support network has been crucial to his progress, showing how the love of his close circle and fans can help him navigate difficult times.
Aside from his health achievements, Jelly Roll’s career has continued to soar. This year, he’s earned accolades at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, Country Music Television (CMT) Music Awards, and received his first nominations for the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards.
Balancing a successful music career with a focus on health hasn’t been easy, but Jelly Roll has made it look possible and inspiring.
Through every step of his journey, Jelly Roll has shown resilience, dedication, and an openness to change that resonates with his fans. As he continues his health journey and captivates audiences with his performances, his story stands as a reminder that it’s never too late to prioritize well-being and pursue a fulfilling life.
Fans are eagerly cheering him on, and with his determination, there’s no doubt that Jelly Roll will keep breaking barriers, both in music and health.
